In addition to the above products, in recent years, the company has also focused on the design and manufacture of Superluminescent Diode (SLD) products, offering wavelengths ranging from 760 to 2900 nm. A significant feature of SLDs is that they combine the high spatial coherence and brightness characteristics of laser diodes with the very broad spectral characteristics inherent to LEDs. The output light is derived from the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) obtained from the epitaxial structure of laser diodes, where laser oscillation is suppressed by special methods. SLDs are adopted as optimal light sources in many innovative technologies, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), low-coherence interferometry, and Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensing.
